At
Stuttgart Convention and Conference Bureau
we promote Stuttgart as a dynamic destination for
convention, conference and incentive travel.
Stuttgart is an ideal destination for
conventions, conferences, meetings, and
incentive travel.
Stuttgart is a
world cultural, historical and convention
metropolis. Every year hundreds of thousands
of people flock to Stuttgart for the
conventions, trade fairs and seminars which
are held here. The majority of these guests
come thanks to the activities of
Stuttgart Conference Venues.
Stuttgart Conference Venues mission is to present
Stuttgart as an important convention venue,
especially abroad, and in so doing – and
through competing with other destinations – to
win the greatest possible number of
conventions and conferences for Stuttgart.
The Convention
industry is one of the most dynamic and
fast-developing industries within the global
economy. This fact best reflects in the huge
investments that have been made into the
Stuttgart convention infrastructure. New hotels have
been built in Stuttgart, offering a wide
variety of conference rooms featuring the
latest equipment, the Stuttgart Conference Centre
has undergone a thorough reconstruction and
extension, and the Stuttgart International
Airport itself too has been extended and
modernised.
Congresses
and conferences ensure the maximum
utilisation of hotels outside the main
tourist season. This means the accommodation
market is not lagging behind but is adapting
to the growing demands of convention
tourists, something which is seen in the
number of new five- and four-star hotels
which have been opened. At the beginning of
2005, there were 19 five-star hotels in Stuttgart
as a whole (up from 10 in the
year 2000) and 201 four-star hotels
(compared to 144 in 2000). There were 4,200
three-star and other hotels. As for
capacity, five-star hotels had a total of
7,500 beds, four-star had 27,500 while
three-star and other hotels and pensions had
over 190,000.
